i'm working on a sound installation for the Graz Kunsthaus staircase
together with Ji Youn Kang, David Pirrò, Hanns Holger Rutz
opening: 04 sep 2020, 6pm
exhibition: 05 sep - 04 oct
we document our working process here
i'm analysing how specific implementations and algorithms might affect feedback circuits
processes that tune to stuff happening in my apartment
maybe set the volume so that sound is barely audible

live electronics performance
@ dumpf edition segmod cd release and talk
w/ Luc Döbereiner and David Pirrò • backstory
the performance explores synchronisation mechanisms as form-generating principles
three systems are organised in a distributed feedback topology
where each system can affect, and simultaneously it can be affected by, the other two.

Six oscillators organized in a 6x6 modulation matrix. Each oscillator's phase is calculated by summing up the phases from
all the other oscillators plus itself. Before the sum, each single phase is multiplied by a so-called modulation index.
In the 6x6 matrix I had 36 modulation indexes, whose values were dependent on the phase of 36 hopf oscillators.
These hopf oscillators were organized in 6 groups and each group was synchronizing to a different input
(one of the six incoming signals). Inside a group, each of the six hopfs had a different coupling value.

audiovidual game performance commissioned by the GAPPP artistic research project.
with Kosmas Giannoutakis. Documentation. Project Repo.
The video game “Freeway” designed by David Crane for the Atari 2600 and published by Activision in 1981,
served as the inspiration source for the development of this audiovisual game performance.
In the original game, the goal is to let a chicken cross a busy highway trying to avoid the traffic.
In our realisation, the game rules are inverted so that the goal is to collide with the moving objects.
The game mechanics are coupled to two generative feedback processes and the performance is
a hybrid of video game play and music improvisation that explores commonalities and boundaries between the two acts of "playing".

• watchdog • was developed during a one week workshop at the Museum der Wahrnehmung in Graz.
it was part of a collective exhibition focused on the translation of environmental data (such as sensor input from the surroundings and visitors)
through computer music systems developed in-situ, exploring the interactions of algorithmic and physical spaces and their dynamic and mutable properties.
